WBEZ: A really fabulous history of drag in Chicago.
PEOPLE: The Matthew Shepard Story: An American Hate Crime — it's been 25 years! — sounds like it will go a long way toward debunking the right-wing (and gay right-wing) belief that Shepard's murder was really a drug deal gone back (it wasn't) or that it was a product of a bad economy (it wasn't). It was a hate crime, pure and simple, and it's shocking how much progress we made in the wake of his killing — and how much has been pissed away recently.

HUFF POST: Dylan Quattrucci is a current Trump '24 official, and he was caught on tape urging cops to kill themselves on January 6:
“If you are a police officer and you are going to abide by unconstitutional bullshit, I want you to do me a favor right now and go hang yourself, because you’re a piece of shit,” Dylan Quattrucci said in the clip, shared by the Sedition Hunters on X last month. “Go fuck yourself.”
PEOPLE: Marshawn Lynch took a part in Bottoms to be “a proud brother” to his queer sister.
Bottoms is a big hit — a boon for lesbian-driven fare. (Image via video still)
TICKETWEB: Tix are for sale now for Knitting Factory Presents Glitter & Concrete, a book launch party and drag show happening September 12 at Baker Falls (101 Ave. A, NYC). The book Glitter and Concrete: A Cultural History of Drag in New York City by Elyssa Maxx Goodman is — sadly! — perfectly timed, with so many new laws going into effect or being considered in order to silence drag, a First Amendment right. Buy the book here.
