John Duff has been plugging away in pop for some time, his music queer and playful, his videos elaborate, but I think “Be Your Girl” — his new single — takes the cake.

It sounds like a disco version of an 11 o'clock number, and the video quotes everything from Barbie to Fosse to Madonna, tossing in a taste of the Charleston on which to chew.
