Peppermint with one of her fans (All images by Matthew Rettenmund)
On Monday evening, I was happy to attend the Queerty Pride50 cocktail party at the Edison Ballroom on Broadway, where Queerty toasted some of the LGBTQ+ people to have made this year's coveted list.
Twink-fluencers Art Bezrukavenko & Chris Stanley might have been the room's most famous faces to fly under the radar.
While mostly a fun party, it also featured performances by emcee Peppermint and Morgxn and offered the site a chance to bestow its Catalyst Award upon Charles Busch and its Impact Award on Paula Pell.
Busch was bowled over by the honor, giving a charming speech about why he embarked upon his 50-year career, and how he feels getting a little love on the eve of his 70th birthday:
Pell — didja know she is not only the star of Girls5eva but helped created such SNL characters Debbie Downer and Gilly?! — gave a suitably hysterical acceptance speech, one that defiantly urged us to ask What Would a 61-Year-Old Do?, the answer being: Not Give AF:
Check out more my photos from the evening below:
