Fred C. Trump III, Donald Trump's nephew, is publishing a memoir about his “atomic-crazy” uncle, but it goes far beyond the Democrats' current sucker-punch attack of labeling the guy “weird.”

In his book — and in new TV interviews — Trump III says he was using his access to the Oval Office for an admirable goal: to advocate for people with complex disabilities, like his own son.

In a chilling and hard-to-disbelieve narrative, Trump III recalls a meeting with advocates that ended with himself and his uncle alone in the Oval Office, where Trump said these people “should just die.”

Trump III later spoke to Donald Trump on the phone to ask for more money for his son's care fund, only to have his uncle tell him that the son didn't recognize him anyway and should be allowed to die so Fred could move to Florida. That was the advice.

The book also documents a time when Trump used the N-word in an angry tirade over damage to his car, though Trump III now says his uncle isn't necessarily a racist, so much as he is a total, equal-opportunity user. (I find this to be white equivocation, but I appreciate his candor.)

Best of all, Fred Trump III endorsed Kamala Harris on The View today, and stated he would not hesitate to campaign for her. I sincerely hope she will not hesitate to take him up on this offer — it strikes me as something an old-school politico like President Biden would shy away from, but I think it is a wonderful gift.

When Trump III talks about how he is sometimes shocked at how DIFFERENT his uncle acts today, I am reminded that Trump used to be a run-of-the-mill New York robber baron who could definitely string a few words together. An inveterate liar and narcissist, yes, but also — not nearly as bonkers. I remember watching a speech of his on YouTube from I believe the '80s, and I was just stunned not to have remembered that he could speak back in the day. Here is the closest thing I could find, which does show him to be an arrogant, money-absorbed prick, but which still shows he has deteriorated a LOT:

P.S. It's interesting how Fred Trump III has some similar speech patterns as his uncle and a resemblance, but is like Bizarro Donald Trump — better put together and more reasonable-sounding.
