Surely you remember the images of a gay Asian man doing the Macarena at the 1996 DNC?

That footage has lived rent-free in my brain ever since, and of course has gone viral many times over.

Now, I've tracked down the guy — Richard Liu, who lives in swing state Pennsylvania — and chatted with him about his history-making bump and grind, which was still long enough ago it predated virality and also was still set in a time when look, a gay on TV!!! was still a pleasant surprise.
