New Evangelicals for Harris ad hits Trump. MAGA evangelicals may want to consider how an unrepentant, adulterous, convicted felon, and adjudicated rapist in a gold-plated penthouse reflects the values of a Jesus who told us to help the poor and the needy.pic.twitter.com/XFGKKksAPe

Uh-oh, Kahana! Far left. (Image via NBC)
THR: RIP Kim Kahana, 94. He was Chongo from Danger Island, a late '60s series that was part of The Banana Splits Adventure Hour. More interestingly, he was trained to be a stuntman by the guy who doubled for Gable in Gone with the Wind, was the sole survivor of a 1955 plane crash that killed more than 30 others, was one of the dancers in that Brady Bunch Hawaii episode and was the guy dangled from a helicopter into the cockpit of a wounded plane in Airport 1975. What a wild ride he had.
@boyculturedotcom "Danger Island" was a segment on "The Banana Splits Adventure Hour" (1968-1970) that was directed by Richard Donner. Kim Kahana — who died this week at 94 — played Chongo, but his career was much longer and more varied than, "Uh-oh, Chongo!" would imply. He can be seen as a biker extra in Brando's "The Wild One" (1953), and after being trained by stunt legend Yakima Canutt [who doubled for Clark Gable in "Gone with the Wind" (1939)], did stunts or acted in a wealth of movies we all know and love: "Cool Hand Luke" (1967), "Planet of the Apes" (1968), "Earthquake" (1974), "Smokey and the Bandit" (1977) and even "Jeepers Creepers" (2001). He was one of the dudes lowered into the gaping hole in the aircraft in "Airport 1975" (1974), and can be spotted on the Hawaii episode of "The Brady Bunch" (1972). Because he was slim and trim, he even stunt-doubled for Sally Field and Stefanie Powers! Very interesting career.
