STONEWALL ARCHIVES: OMG, Back to the Drive Celebration 2 is reuniting Latter Days stars Jacqueline Bisset and Wes Ramsey. Via press release:

Fort Lauderdale, Fl (September 17th, 2024)– Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library celebrates legends at its highly-anticipated Back to the Drive Celebration 2 on October 17th with appearances by 2003 LGBT+ romantic comedy ‘Latter Days’ stars Jacqueline Bisset and Wes Ramsey.

 

The highly anticipated, annual event, features C. Jay Cox and Kirkland Tibbels, the director/writer and producer of the hit film during an evening of fun and fundraising for the Museum’s educational programs such as SNEP. There will be a focus on Stonewall taking on Visit Florida…and celebrating those cities and states (in and out of Florida) welcoming our community with open arms! 

 

Currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, the film ‘Latter Days’ tackles the dramatic love story between a Los Angeles party boy and a closeted Mormon missionary. Initially released at the Philadelphia International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, the film was also presented at OutFest in July. ‘Latter Days’ received standing ovations and resonates with viewers around the world.

During Back to the Drive Celebration 2, the cast will discuss the film’s impact on the LGBT+ community and just possibly plans for a sequel?

 

“With plans in the works for a new film studio in Fort Lauderdale, a discussion with C. Jay and Kirkland on a slate of new LGBTQ films to shoot here is exciting.” said Stonewall Executive Director Robert Kesten. “Bisset and Ramsey created indelible characters that are impossible to forget. We look forward to welcoming them to Back to the Drive and Fort Lauderdale, the friendliest place in Florida.”

Kesten added, “We have an opportunity to discuss how our nation's cultural views of LGBT+ rights have changed over the past 20 years, and it will be interesting to hear how up and coming films will address these concerns.”
