Liam Payne, the former One Direction member who had recently been dealing with drug and alcohol problems, is confirmed dead at 31.

Payne reportedly fell or jumped from a Buenos Aires hotel around 5 p.m. local time.

He had been in the country to support his touring ex-bandmate Niall Horan, and the band had reunited after a long while.

TMZ published an edited image showing part of his body as proof; identifying tattoos were clearly visible.

What a shocking end for this troubled young man.
