KENNETH IN THE (212): This is how they dress to watch tennis.
ECONOMIST: Was Lincoln gay? Yes.
Cybill had a very straight expression when I met her this year, and has mobility issues — so I suspected a medical explanation. That said, she looks beautiful and like herself at 74, and was nice. (Image by Matthew Rettenmund)
PALM SPRINGS LIFE: A lively li'l interview with Cybill Shepherd, who casually mentions that when she was briefly involved with Elvis, he had never gone down on a woman before!

TWITTER: The union leader behind the port strike WANTS to damage Democrats. I think anyone involved in a union in any way who is this anti-Democrat needs a history lesson and to be shown the door.
COOK POLITICAL: Cook, the premier nonpartisan polling site, has released its current findings, which revealvery little movement from August. (In August, polls revealed a large swing to Harris post-Biden dropout.) In six swing states, Harris is narrowly ahead. In North Carolina, she's tied with Trump. Trump narrowly leads in Georgia. Just over 30 days out, you'd rather be Harris, even if it is revolting that this race is so tight. (Assuming it really is.)
TWITTER: It's embarrassing how many people went on social media to push how the veep debate was going to change so much. I do not believe any veep debate ... ever? ... has.
MADDOW BLOG: Marcus (he's here) is an instant social-media star for pointing out the obvious — vice presidents do not set policy. That's why they get the credit (for being there and backing up the POTUS) and do not get the criticism (they cannot call the shots):

SPOTIFY: Ladsclub's new single “Heartstop” is out FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4.
TWITTER: Tim Scott murdered on CBC, lol!
VARIETY: Brandy, who played Cinderella, has kind words for Rachel Zegler, who is being ripped to shreds by Trumpers for DARING to play Snow White while Colombian. (Meanwhile, she even LOOKS the part, so I guess they're just mad at her DNA.)
As for her #FreePalestine comments:
I can’t watch children die. I don’t think that should be a hot take. I’m only responsible for what I feel. And then I’m also responsible for how I act upon it. We’re nearing one year since the horrendous attacks in Israel on October 7, but I’ve been following this conflict for so many years. Like so many people, I’m so heartbroken by the loss of life that we’re seeing with these insane death tolls coming out of both regions. I don’t have the answers. I don’t think any celebrity making a political statement has the answers. But we have the platform to share a donation link to make sure that these people get the money, the care and the aid that they need that people in power aren’t giving them. If that means that it can fall upon us to be in power in a way that is helpful, then I’m happy to do it.
Seems reasonable, even if I think many who are advocating for Palestine have fallen into the trap of being pro-Hamas and pro-Hezbollah, and sniping that EVERYONE is a filthy Zionist, a word most of them never used one time prior to October 7. I do not think her stance is controversial in the slightest — Israel is not totally innocent, but peace, man.
