INDEPENDENT: Fascinating story of how Dirk Bogarde, a gay actor who was one of Great Britain's leading thesps at the time, was monitored by the KGB. MI5 warned the actor that his name was on a list of practicing homosexuals handed to the KGB. Clearly, this kind of a warning would shake a person to their core in the '70s, when it happened. It could well have contributed to his decision to never come out publicly as gay before his death in 1999.

The intelligence files provide insight into MI5’s concerns over Bogarde’s potential vulnerability to KGB exploitation. In 1970, MI5 learned that Bogarde had been named as gay to the Russians by a man who himself had fallen victim to a KGB sting during a visit to Moscow in the late 1950s.

Never name names, which is easy to say now. Imagine being gay in the '50s and having the KGB squeeze you for info on else is gay?

Look, the original Village People (there is only one left in that mix) existed because of gay creativity, gay talent and gay dollars. Victor Willis has already attempted to strip away the gay, now he's pretending performing for Trump isn't a political act. It is, because Trump, unlike any other president, is 100% political and divisive EVERY TIME he speaks. There is no gray area. You are FOR HIM, or you OPPOSE him. FACEBOOK: Meanwhile, a good example of racist old white gay men rearing their ugly heads: Gary Lee Boas, who has shot some great fan-type photos for decades, posted a defense of Melania Trump's deeply weird attire at Jimmy Carter's funeral (it was no accident) by slamming Michelle Obama for not going. This is a GAY MAN who kisses young guys in Paris and then fends off all of his friends' criticisms, but he has time to defend fucking Melania Trump.

There is nothing wrong with trashing your oppressors. There is nothing petty about calling out (her) pettiness. There is something deeply wrong about siding with them.

POLITICO: Seems to me that Marco Rubio left a cushy job as a senator, will spend a few months as Secretary of State, and will be shown the door by Trump, who still sees him as Little Marco.

WAPO: Republicans want CONDITIONAL aid to California over its wildfires. But yeah, North Carolina and bumfuck Louisiana, etc., will continue to get no-strings-attached aid and tax dollars from blue states. Fuck that.
