BBC: Let's start with something positive — Norman Notley and David Brynley were a gay couple who lives openly as such in Corfe Castle in the U.K. from 1923 until their deaths in 1980 and 1981. Villagers even organized an event in 1973 to celebrate their 50th anniversary of living there.

Now, their photos, letters and diaries have been digitized and are on display. One poignant note is that in spite of their openness, there is only one photo of the two showing affection, a kiss on the cheek.

CBS NEWS: Horrible story about two older gay men in Miami who were befriended by a younger guy with intentions of fleecing them. The killer murdered the men — one to keep him quiet over theft — and tried to cover up their deaths. In one case, he strangled a 71-year-old man with seatbelts, then tried to stage an accident to deflect attention from his crime:
