Elon Musk vs. U.S. Democracy + OpenAI's Sam Altman Mocks Musk + Eric Adams Is A Made Man Under Trump Deal + Winter Party 2025 Is Upon Us + MORE! — 12-PACK Comments (0)

ABOVE: Wild thing.

BELOW: Keep reading for the battle between Elon Musk and the soul of the United States, a fun story about Tina Louise, how much Adam Lambert cares and more ...

THR: Ari Emanuel, Obama-Democrat Rahm Emanuel's brother — and the same Ari who is CEO of Endeavor and a vocal critic of Kanye West's platformed anti-Semitism — is ... joining forces with Elon Musk to try to buy OpenAI from (gay CEO) Sam Altman.

Because Elon Musk does not already control too much of our world.

Altman's response, so far, is perfect. I sincerely hope he holds firm:

NY DAILY NEWS: Trump and Vance are (more than) flirting with the idea that the exec branch can and will ignore the judicial branch, blinking away our entire concept of checks and balances while MAGA digs in to a $25 omelet.

HUFF POST: NYC's for-now Mayor Eric Adams did not want to be facing a federal corruption case, so he sucked Trump's dick metaphorically — and just like that, Trump is making it go the fuck away. Which is what most New Yorkers want Adams to do. June can't come quickly enough.

And for all my NYC pals who are scared by Trump's fascist takeover, but who keep saying they're glad we're in a liberal bastion, Paul Blumenthal is right:

Adams is a made-man now. An unpaid informant. A forced collaborator. New York City is now a rotten borough, effectively taken over by President Donald Trump through this corrupt deal, and its residents are deprived of independent leadership.

SUBSTACK: I'm doing more and more on Substack, so it's disheartening to read its CEO Chris Best writing passionately about freedom of speech in a piece that starts strong but comes to a dead stop when he praises his enemy Elon Musk for advancing free speech on Twitter. Uh, he bought it, encouraged the rise of Nazism and use of slurs (which are free speech in the moment, and both of which lead to LESS free speech), rigged the algorithm to favor himself and Trump and to depress dissent ... how the fuck is Elon Musk a paragon of free speech?

Why are all of these big techies in the thrall of Musk? Money. People can disagree, but when they have money, they're allll riiiight. But why are they all so quick to bend the knee to Trump? These companies have obscene money and power, yet Google is changing its maps to say Gulf of America and deleting Pride and Black History Month, Facebook is capitulating in ways Best says are good ... it's like there is never enough money, and there is never enough power.

And it's a LOT like they all have zero moral compass. I guess the only good part is they'll happily flip back if there is a show of liberal strength at the polls because ... they go where the money and the power go.

NYT: These three bastards were convicted in the deaths of two gay men and robberies committed after gay men were picked up in NYC bars, drugged and had their accounts trained. Scum of the earth, all three. It's such a low crime, it's hard to believe even their families were present, telling them they loved and supported them.

WINTER PARTY FESTIVAL 2025Can we get together? (Image via WinterParty.com)

WINTER PARTY FESTIVAL 2025: The National LGBTQ Task Force's Winter Party Festival 2025 is returning to Miami Beach for its 32nd-anniversary blowout! Theme: Dance Is Revolution.

Sez Kierra Johnson, its prez:

For those who’ve joined us before, you know this week-long symphony of music and
movement is part of what unites us to celebrate, connect, and honor the joy that fuels
our strength. We would be remiss not to highlight why the Winter Party Festival remains a
thriving cornerstone of queer culture as one of the last remaining community owned
circuit parties. Part of the answer lies in the very ground we gather upon. Florida — a
state where hateful, anti-LGBTQ rhetoric is rampant and harmful policies are piloted —
has become a testing ground for authoritarian strategies designed to suppress our
existence. Historically, the policies that take root here are then exported to harm other
communities.

The party has raised $3.8M just since 2005, making it a major philanthropic gathering in a sea of — well — you know what's going on.

THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON: Adam Lambert performed a stellar “I Don't Care Much” (from Cabaret) last night:

Sez Adam:

“I Don’t Care Much” is a torch song dealing with indifference that comes at a point in the show where all hope and joy has been eclipsed by the presence of Nazi forces in Berlin. We recorded this track and filmed the video just as the anxiety around the results of the 2024 U.S. election hit our community. There’s catharsis in the sadness for the listener, and I hope they can feel seen and realize they’re not alone in this moment in time.

KENNETH IN THE (212): The (Robert) Hays dress (Code).

VARIETY: Kanye West's Nazi site was shut down and now Shopify, which aided and abetted him, is all, “We sawwy.”

YOUTUBE: Rep. Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina) made a lot of accusations on the House floor and went on a bonkers rant. Who even knows what, if any part of it, is true. I feel like she is mentally off and we're all just forced to watch it:

OMG.BLOG!: A Pulitzer is in order for “hawk-a-dile tears.”

INSTAGRAM: Today's birthdays are out of this world. I just love Tina and can't believe she's 91!

Great Tina story:
