MUBI: When I did my Best of 2024 list, I had not seen Denmark's The Girl with the Needle. If you're contemplating suicide and need that extra push, this'll do it — so go into this extremely dark film knowing it is a challenge due not to pacing but to sinister content. But otherwise, if you think you can handle dark and depressing (but simultaneously suspenseful), go in blind. I did not know a thing about it. It's not an abortion movie. Just see it.
