Gene Hackman, Wife & Dog Causes Of Death Confirmed Comments (0)

Via KTLA5: Though it was an unusually sad series of events, the deaths of Oscar winner Gene Hackman, 95, and his classical pianist wife Betsy Arakawa, 65, have been explained in a way that makes tragic sense.

First fact that make this outcome more understandable: Hackman had Alzheimer's and advanced cardiac disease, so was not as hearty as he had been up until last year.

His wife was suffering from hantavirus pulmonary disease, a relatively rare and infectious ailment that I would assume she could have confused with a bad flu.

Betsy died first, perhaps taking pills. Hackman then died. His cause is linked to his heart and Alzheimer's, but it would appear if she fell and died, he, confused, would have left his bed and fallen hours or days later and been unable to help himself.

The poor dog died of thirst/starvation, as it was penned up.
