TOFF: The Tom of Finland Foundation's board of directors has issued a statement reaffirming its mission:
Following our special Board meeting held on Monday 3rd March, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to TOM House as the heart of Tom of Finland Foundation. TOM House has always been, and will remain, a vital space for gathering and celebrating Tom of Finland’s legacy and the Foundation’s mission.
As stewards of this mission, we recognize the importance of safeguarding our collections for long term care, security, and accessibility, providing professional workplace conditions to our growing staff, and continuing the success of our Artist-in-Residence Program. To that end, we are establishing the ToFF Facilities Task Force to assess the feasibility of relocating our collection to more secure locations that align with our mission, exploring options for relocating staff to more suitable offices, and identifying ways to enhance the Artist-in-Residence Program.
This Task Force will comprise key stakeholders, experts, and artists from our community and will conduct a thorough assessment over the next 90 days. At the conclusion of this period, they will present their findings and a set of options for the Board’s consideration.
While this vital work is underway, the Artist-in-Residence Program will continue as planned, ensuring that TOM House remains a welcoming and inspiring space for artists and the many communities we serve.
We deeply appreciate your support and engagement as we navigate these crucial discussions. Your voices and passion are what make this Foundation strong, and we look forward to sharing updates as the Task Force progresses in its work.
