Thirty-five years ago today, Madonna's legendary Blond Ambition Tour kicked off in the rain in Japan. It was the template for all pop tours to follow, thanks in no small part to the last-minute addition of Vincent Paterson as choreographer (replacing Karole Armitage). He and Madonna were a great team, with major support from her late brother Christopher Ciccone (sets) and of course her singer-dancers Niki Haris and Donna De Lory, and her troupe: José Gutierez, Luis Camacho, Slam Gauwloos, Oliver Crumes, Kevin Stea, Carlton Wilborn and the late Gabriel Crumes.
