Incredibly, deep-red Louisiana has elected Democrat John Bel Edwards as its new governor, replacing outgoing embarrassment Bobby Jindal and passing over almost-incoming embarrassment David Vitter.

Vitter is a sitting U.S. senator, one whose diaper-loving ways have not hurt him enough to keep him from winning re-election in 2010.
