USC sophomore volleyball star Sam Lewis has come out in a terrifically honest, sweet and emotional video posted on Coming Out Day. It's one of the longest ones I've seen (almost five minutes long), but well worth your time to watch all the way through.
One of the best sentiments:
I wanna be that next generation, I wanna be that next guy, that next athlete, that next influencer that people can look at and say, That's who I wanna be. I like him. I identify with him.
The video, after the jump, is even more important for older gay people to watch to hammer home the fact that even in 2018, young people still struggle to come out ...
A friend sent me a note about a bunch of vintage-'80s pics of hot men in Speedos enjoying some time on a boat with Barry Diller, the billionaire mogul who was outed by Liz Smith but who married Diane von Fürstenberg in 2015.

The late '80s/early '90s-looking photos are, as he thought, up my alley — but I'm not sure he realized just how far up my alley they'd be, considering they clearly show a younger, Speedo-clad Hart Bochner among the boys.
Bochner — the Apartment Zero star and successful director who has never been linked to any women but has never come out as gay — is one of my all-time favorite sexy men, so seeing him in this context is a joy. And frankly, the world is a better place each time an unseen Hart Bochner snap finds its way onto the Web ...
ABOVE: If you like that sorta thang.
Above: If you like him, more by the same photographer after the jump.

Derek Chadwick — newly out actor, musician and Instagram model — claims one of the August 2018 GT covers.
Inside, the 23-year-old says:
Coming out in this way allows me to use the privilege that I have to help other people who don't have that. The opportunities that I've been given to have a voice. I feel like that was the main reason why I wanted to do this cover. I want to be the person that's at those rallies and events advocating for people and anybody. I never felt that I could do that unless I did this, and I think this is a major way for people to see visible queer people.
