I detest Wendy Williams.
There is a lot of LCD TV that I enjoy and think is harmless, but her trashy show is harmful on a regular basis because she uses it to talk out of her ass about things of which she knows nothing.
This post is not, surprisingly, spurred on by her gross comments about Madonna over the years (which are less insulting for being jabs at a public figure than for the ageism, sexism and bigotry she uses to arrive at her diarrhetic opinions), but by her racially wrong-headed comments of today.
Williams has no idea what NAACP stands for and said it's offensive that there is such a thing as a historically black college, claiming we don't have historically white colleges.
I must say to you, [Jesse Williams] was on BET. His speech was very poignant. On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically Black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There's the NAACP.
I'm not black and even I know that most of the rest of them are historically white. They're not advertised as such, but what % of graduates of Ivy League colleges before, say, even a few decades ago were POC?
Williams just talks to fill time, and when you're stupid—and she is—that's dangerous. I never understood why so many LGBT people found her hilarious. (I also hate when people who hate her pick apart her trans-looking appearance, which is of course anti-trans in and of itself.)
Let's just avoid the topic of Wendy altogether going forward, shall we?
