OUT: Andrew Scott, one of the OUT100 this year, talks passionately about the diversity of the — and his — queer community:
“One of the things I love in my own queer friendships is that, for some reason, not everybody is from the same socioeconomic background or the same age or whatever. So, having friends who are in their 80s, and having friends who are in their 20s and their 40s and 50s, and lots of different genders and races, to me, it’s really, really inspiring. That’s what the world needs, because prejudice doesn’t survive proximity. That’s why I think inclusiveness within our own community is so incredibly important.”
WSYX: Failing Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is doubling down on an ad in which his opponent Dr. Amy Acton’s mother disavows Acton. The problem? Her mom abandoned her in favor of the stepfather who absolutely, 100% molested her. Unreal that anyone would think this was okay.
WASHINGTON POST: The Senate race in Minnesota has shifted from Likely Dem to lean Dem. Not great, but if the blue wave that is expected happens, it seems very unlikely it would skip Minnesota.
JOE.MY.GOD.: Meanwhile, Mississippi may be in play. (I think South Carolina is, too, but don’t quote me. I just feel Lindsey’s sister is such a fucking idiot … )
LGBTQ NATION: “Library Removes 14-Year-Old Logo Because 3 People Thought It Looked Too Gay.”
THE TIMES: Crystal Lake, the origin story of Pam Voorhees from Friday the 13th, is exponentially better than the movies.
NEW YORK TIMES: Another day, another story of blatant corruption by Trump and his cronies — this time, it’s Alina Habba who received a $50M deal from a Venezuelan billionaire … just before he received presidential clemency.
VARIETY: The Golden Globes is getting all strict and shit, icing out Michael from the (easier) musical or comedy categories. It’ll have to compete as a straight-up drama.
TREKMOVIE.COM: Karim Diané talks gay Klingon romance.
