Richard Harrison, a bona fide AMG posing-strap legend who became a huge movie star overseas making sword-and-sandal, spaghetti-western, Eurospy and ninja flicks, died September 18 at 90. He was a fascinating guy, suave, cultured, well-traveled and well-read. I’m sure the dinners he hosted with his wife of 48 years Francesca (which attracted the likes of George Cukor and Gore Vidal and Steve Reeves) must have been amazing.
G8ERDAYS: Personally bereft to read that the last member of the duo Naked Eyes, Pete Byrne, died September 14 at 74. Their debut album, along with a-ha’s Hunting High and Low and Madonna’s Madonna, is among the very best pop albums of the ‘80s. Plus, guy sang backup on Stevie Wonder’s #1 hit “Part-Time Lover”!
