KICKSTARTER: A long-awaited book devoted to the life and work of Harry Bush is coming soon — and you can get it for a bargain price if you pledge ASAP.
INSTAGRAM: Sam Waxman shoots Matteo Lane’s best feature. Third slide. You’re welcome.
TWITTER: Madonna’s son Rocco is an artist and a work of art.
CNN: As Republicans desperately try to convince us that Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Georgia) made an unforced error by obliquely implying Trump is sexing his adoring helper Natalie Harp, CNN helpfully tracked down her estranged brother for comment. Nat’s brother sounds like a sweetheart, urging her to wake up and change her ways:
YOUTUBE: Jesus Fookin’ Christ — Darline Graham, a SITTING U.S. SENATOR, just said in her debate:
“I’m not on national security — I’m not that informed on national security, but I do support the military.”
This was in response to a question on Taiwan and the South China Sea. This goober was handed a Senate seat because her vastly more informed (and still dead-wrong) closet-case brother had the good sense to die.
Watch her crap the fainting couch:
WPTV: Angie Nixon, a progressive, is the surprise winner of the Florida Democratic primary, defeating Alex Vindman. Vindman, a thorn in Trump’s side, is an unapologetic supporter of Israel and has presented himself as a centrist. (And by the way, she kicked his ass — so far, she’s winning by like 12%.)
NEW YORK TIMES: Byron Donalds is one step closer to becoming Florida’s first Black governor; and as its first, he would be a slobbering Trump apologist. He faces David Jolly.
BUTLER RADIO: In an upset, a Dem has beaten a Republican in a Pennsylvania district won by Trump by almost 20 points. The Dem erased that advantage, coming out on top by … 88 votes. Congrats, Brandon Dukes.
CNN: Rep. Mary Peltola (D-Alaska) will advance to the general, where she hopes to pick off sitting Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska). And will.
NEWSWEEK: Prolific and effective anti-Trump content creator Dean Withers was the subject of a fake pedophilia allegation on TikTok. It’s absolutely frightening how quickly this made-up shit can profligate.
LGBTQ NATION: A Wisconsin teacher alleges Moms for Liberty made up pedophilia allegations against him just because he’s gay — and it worked, as he was fired.
JUST JARED: Derek Chadwick has severed ties with the brand-new dating app Goose, about which he’d been so geeked for so long.
AUTOSTRADDLE: Yes, a Twilight reboot with a lesbian Bella might hit the spot.
THE RANDY REPORT: The Dorian TV Award winners are dominated by Hacks and Heated Rivalry.
JOE.MY.GOD.: If you need another reason to be highly suspicious of AI, how about this: AI firms — and Amazon — are buying up rare books, scanning them to train AI and then destroying the books. It’s such a visceral example of what AI is in the process of doing. It’s devouring humanity and reality. It certainly has positive uses! (Medicine comes to mind.) But I can think of very few on the creative side.
THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: Peggy Webber, who had arguably been among the most experienced living actors from the age of radio, died this week at 100. Just last year, she had kindly sent me this:
Peggy had a memorable bit part in Hitchcock’s The Wrong Man in 1956.
