Boy Culture Links: Rob Rausch for MAC, Michael Cimino's Strip Show, Check Out My Podcast, 'A Friend of Dorothy' Hits YouTube, Peggy Siegal's Epstein Links Exposed + MORE
MARCH 3, 2026
QUEERTY: Alan Cummings has apologized in full for the BAFTAs incident in which a man with Tourette’s shouted the N-word.
INSTAGRAM: Michael Cimino did a strip in WeHo. I missed that, but I did get lots of footage of him several years ago at NYC’s Pride March:
LGBTQ+ NATION: Doechii’s Levi’s ad is pissing One Million Moms (still a thing!) off.
WOMEN’S WEAR DAILY: Rob Rausch showed up at Sephora in Times Square to plug MAC’s arrival.
RUNNER’S WORLD: Harry Styles is covering Runner’s World, saying to Haruki Murakami (author of What I Talk About When I Talk About Running):
“When you write about sex and masculinity, your characters aren’t all experts at sex—there are a lot of scenes of them fumbling around. There’s an innocence to them, as well as vulnerability, and shame. That has definitely changed the way I view being masculine and being vulnerable.”
YOUTUBE (SUBSCRIBE, PLEASE): I just posted a pilot for my podcast, Boy Culture with Matthew Rettenmund. I do so many interviews, but always audio-only and then they’re written as Q&As or read-throughs. So, I’m going to begin filming them. I’ll get better and better at it, and hope to have a lot more to offer soon.
First up in Jenni Olson, a queer-film luminary if ever there were one.
My full interview with Jenni is also here.
OUT.COM: Robert Rice and his penis are interviewed about their project Laid Bare, written and directed by their husband Tim O’Leary.
YOUTUBE: Lee Knight’s Oscar-nominated short film A Friend of Dorothy is available in full on YouTube — 21 minutes of queer positivity:
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS: Congressional candidate Jack Schlossberg is not amused by Ryan Murphy’s schlocky take on his famous aunt and uncle, Love Story: JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, calling it “grotesque.” Cleverly, instead of just slamming it, he urged Murphy to donate to the JFK Library and to “do something about getting Trump out of power.”
HUFFINGTON POST: More than 100 American service members have filed complaints that higher-ups have explicitly told them Trump’s attack on Iran is a Christian plan to bring about the end of the world:
“We started getting calls in the wee hours of Saturday morning from people saying their commanders were just jubilant about this and trying to tell people, ‘Don’t worry, it’s all part of God’s plan.’”
NEW YORK TIMES: It’s so insane that Trump thinks Iran is just going to bounce back when the U.S./Israeli strikes mistakenly took out a bunch of the guys they thought might take over upon Khameini’s assassination.
EXTRATV: Christina Applegate’s got MS, and she’s got jokes — in her memoir, she laments dumping unknown Brad Pitt for rock star Sebastian Bach. Now, she says:
“Of course, Brad is now THE Brad Pitt, and Sebastian Bach… well, he still has long hair, I guess.”
SUBSTACK: This list of all of Hollywood power broker Peggy Siegal’s private communications with her client Jeffrey Epstein is appalling. I firmly believe a lot of people — charmed by his looks, wealth and offers of access to hot adult women — foolishly fell in with Epstein without having knowledge that he was trafficking kids. But anyone who was in league with him after his first arrest knew who they were dealing with and didn’t care. Even worse, Siegal took money to help rehab Epstein’s image — and privately cracked, um, jokes??? about buying him a child in Africa and about finding him a virgin to deflower.
JOE.MY.GOD.: An employee of Trump’s State Department went on a stabbing spree during a road-rage incident, killing a woman and a dog and injuring three others before being killed by police.
PEOPLE: Ashley Guillard, a clout-chasing online tarot content creator, was ordered to pay $10M in damages after asserting — falsely — that a University of Idaho professor orchestrated the murders that of course were carried out by Bryan Kohberger. Man, I detest these charlatans. Richly deserved.
I hope Savannah Guthrie will go after the likes of Zack Peter, the gay Asian MAGAt who has said he is convinced she knows stuff about why her mother is missing.
KENNETH IN THE (212): An all-male tennis round-up.
VARIETY: The Paramount Skydance deal is backed, in part, by filthy rich investors in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere across the Middle East.
RED EYE: Unitard is back with an all-new show.
BROADWAY BACKWARDS: Wow — they added Len Cariou to Broadway Backwards. Legend.
