Boy Culture Links: Rob Rausch Steals 'The Traitors' as Michael Rapaport Goes Down, New Doc on the Murder of Gay-Porn Actor Billy London, Renee Good Shot 4 Times + More
JANUARY 17, 2026
EW: I’m a The Traitors addict — I’ve seen every single episode of every series from every country. (I have a lot of time on my hands.) But this new U.S. seasons sucks ass. Why? The Faithfuls are especially dull, the most dynamic people are getting voted off and Michael Rapaport has been on the show (until now). It’s so hard to watch around that asshole! SPOILER: Now, he’s finally been evicted — and it had as much to do with his losing personality as anything else, including his inference that Colton Underwood would be an especially good liar because he was in the closet for so long. Low blow.

Meanwhile, a lot of people have found Underwood to be a sketchy character, but he’s doing a decent job of laundering those concerns with his appearance on the show. Sure, he’s as off as everyone else in guessing Traitors, but he’s not making a fool of himself like Rapaport did.
But for me, the star is impossibly sexy Rob. Even though his claim to fame is Love Island U.S.A., he won me over for good when he corrected Rapaport on his misuse of the word “commiserating.” But It was his face, body, pics, cum-gutters and ass that hooked me in the first place, roughly speaking.
WASHINGTON BLADE: Yendri Rodríguez, a gay Venezuelan dissident, offers an expert and nuanced take on the current state of his homeland, questioning the legality of Trump’s extraction of Maduro while welcoming Maduro’s departure and wondering about Trump’s agenda.
He also recognizes that Trump’s personally chosen successor to Maduro (so far), Delcy Rodríguez, “is and forms part of the mechanisms of repression.”
Ultimately, he says:
“Our hope is that the rest of the international community, more than the U.S. government, will take action. This is a crucial moment to preserve democratic institutions worldwide, to preserve human rights.”
This is all coming from a guy shot eight times by Maduro’s enforcers.

L.A. TIMES: Rachel Mason, who directed the must-see doc Circus of Books (2019), is back with My Brother’s Killer, in which her quest to document the murder of gay porn actor Billy London aka Bill Newton in 1990 actually ferreted out a new suspect — who confessed! My Brother’s Killer will play the SXSW Film Festival.

FACEBOOK: RIP To Don Weise. The esteemed gay writer and editor, who reportedly died today, devoted his life to LGBTQ+ literature, including as the publisher of Alyson Books, a senior editor at Carroll & Graf and as the founding publisher of Querelle Books. He was singled out by Publishers Weekly and by Out as a queer literary force to be reckoned with. He edited for many authors, from first-timers to the likes of Gore Vidal, Edward Albee, Christopher Bram, Samuel R. Delany, E. Lynn Harris, David Mixner, Urvashi Vaid and Edmund White.
HUFFINGTON POST: Chaotic 911 transcripts from the Renee Good shooting are released — as we learn that poor woman was shot FOUR TIMES.
JOE.MY.GOD.: I think we all know that asshole who murdered Renee Good did not have “internal bleeding,” but one reason we heard about it was CBS News chief Bari Weiss pushed for her network to run with the claim.
ADVOCATE: So many “centrists” online say they are supportive of ICE because people need to immigrate legally. Yet, Trump’s ICE deliberately snatches people who are going through all the motions by lying in wait for them at routine immigration hearings. How is that fair?
In this case, a gay man, Elias Perez-Zuazo was taken in December from a meet-up he’s attended for years.
YAHOO: Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) is trailing state Rep. James Talarico (D-Texas) in their Senate primary, but Crockett is wisely fundraising off of that gaffe by Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang.

THE GUARDIAN: An original BBC program from 1954, though to be its first on the topic of homosexuality, is being brought back to life onstage. On the show, Lord Hailsham noted:
“All the homosexuals I’ve known have been extremely eager, like alcoholics, to spread the disease from which they suffer.”
Hm. It sounds like a lot of guys around Hailsham were offering him more than a drinky poo.
