Boy Culture Links: Roger Rees's Parting Words, Colbert Thwarts CBS & FCC, Anderson Cooper Sayin' C-Ya Later to CBS, Chalamet's Bum, RIP Robert Duvall & 'Like a Virgin' Writer Billy Steinberg + MORE
FEBRUARY 17, 2026
FACEBOOK: If you’re not following Jordan Vasquez on Facebook (see above), you’re missing out.
SUPER AWESOME FRIENDS: This story by Rick Elice about the last days of actor Roger Rees’s life is so moving. Just beautiful.
EXTRATV: RIP to the Rev. Jesse Jackson, whose two runs for the presidency made history. The esteemed founder of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition died Tuesday at 84.

YOUTUBE: Stephen Colbert was forced to move his topical interview with Texas Senate candidate James Talarico to YouTube because Bari Weiss’s CBS decided it wasn’t worth irritating Trump’s FCC. Colbert’s message to the FCC chair is “FCC you!”
ATTITUDE: Chuck Schumer is taking action to protect the Pride flag.
PEOPLE: Anderson Cooper is leaving 60 Minutes after 20 years to spend more time with his family:
“Being a correspondent at 60 Minutes has been one of the great honors of my career. I got to tell amazing stories, and work with some of the best producers, editors, and camera crews in the business. For nearly twenty years, I’ve been able to balance my jobs at CNN and CBS, but I have little kids now and I want to spend as much time with them as possible, while they still want to spend time with me.”
Er, nothing to do with CBS taking a fascist turn?

JOE.MY.GOD.: Billionaire Hyatt CEO ensnared in Epstein fallout. And yet CBS is cool with Peter Attia, whose emails back and forth with Epstein — unlike any interactions most of the famous names irresponsibly linked to the child predator ever had — are, on their face, revolting and hint at sinister goings-on.
Attia, by the by, was hangin’ with Epstein while his young son was in a life-and-death struggle. He lied, telling his wife he was working too hard to be there.
GR8ERDAYS: RIP Robert Duvall, 95. One of the most iconic actors of the 20th century, he worked from 1959-2022, appearing in everything from To Kill a Mockingbird and The Godfather I & II to THX 138, Tender Mercies, Apocalypse Now and Lonesome Dove. One of his later successes was a villainous turn in Widows. Four Emmy nominations (one win) and seven Oscar nominations (one win) — few would argue he was a top talent in a way that transcended mere movie stardom.
GR8ERDAYS: RIP Billy Steinberg, 10 days shy of his 76th. The legendary tunesmith, with creative partner Tom Kelly, was in the Songwriters Hall of Fame — and no wonder! They logged five no. 1 hits with “Like a Virgin” by Madonna, “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper, “So Emotional” by Whitney Houston, “Alone” by Heart and “Eternal Flame” by the Bangles.
BOOK SOUP: Jeremy Kinser will be chatting with authors Robert Lipton and Michael Gregg Michaud at Book Soup in L.A. about their book Surviving the Survivors: The Making of a Television Disaster — and that will include plenty of Lana Turner trash talk! Michael sez:
“Save the date!! Wednesday, March 18 at 7:00 pm. Book signing at Book Soup on Sunset Strip. Join Robert Lipton (and me) chatting with Jeremy Kinser about Bob's new/first book about his adventures making the legendary nighttime drama The Survivors, and working with the legendary Lana Turner. Hollywood behind the scenes drama! Book Soup. 8818 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood! Come on down!!”
PEOPLE: Motive in Nancy Guthrie case could be … revenge?
EXTRATV: Guthrie’s entire family is off the hook.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: A friend of James Van Der Beek’s is pushing back against online complaints over his family’s need for a GoFundMe in light of their last-second purchase of a $4M home.
INSIDE THE MAGIC: Disney’s Gay Days is back.
GALLUP: LGBTQ+ identification in the U.S. is still just 9%.

FACEBOOK: This guy’s stories are compulsively addictive. The Transylvania one is bonkers.
VIA MR. MAN: The wags at Mr. Man are back, this time exposing plenty of Oscar hopeful Timothée Chalamet:
“Oscar buzz continues to swirl around Timothée Chalamet’s career-defining performance in Marty Supreme, but the real star is the spanking scene that everyone needs to know about. We’ll get into this nude scene in Marty Supreme, as well as Tim’s other sexy moments from this flick and beyond. He’d like to spank the Academy!
“In Marty Supreme, Chalamet plays the titular hustler turned ping pong prodigy. His character gets in with some seedy folks, always staying one step ahead of danger. At first, Marty plays ping pong in underground gambling clubs to make a quick buck, but his talent overshadowed his scheming, turning him into a legitimate ping pong pro - although he remained a polarizing figure throughout his life.
“What does this mean for us? Marty’s crazy story includes a run-in with a group of men who humiliate him with a ping pong battle. Two older gentlemen watch as another uses a ping pong paddle to spank Timmy’s cute little tush! We’re seeing Tim bent over with a dude having his way with Tim’s ass. As two other dudes watch in delight. We’ll leave it there. It’s the magic of cinema at play.
“Sure, this scene of Timothée Chalamet nude in Marty Supreme is great, but there’s another one hidden in the flick. While he’s taking a bath, the tub falls through the floor, leaving a naked Timothée scrambling to get the tub off a poor pup that it lands on.
“Outside of Marty Supreme, fans can find Chalamet naked in Call Me By Your Name, where he flashes his famously cute little ass while spying on his older crush. Plus, there are plenty of very suggestive scenes here, one including jizz and a peach, which I doubt you need to be reminded of. Forget ping pong, we’re still waiting to see this king’s dong!”
