Boy Culture Links: 'Visual Diaries' Remembers Queer Artists Lost to AIDS, Oscar Picks, Hegseth Campaigning for War-Criminal Status + MORE
MARCH 15, 2026
ICA LONDON: Coming April 1, Fabio Cherstich is presenting Visual Diaries, a performative art lecture that intimately explores the ‘80s NYC queer-art scene. This also includes never-seen ‘70s Fire Island movies by Larry Stanton. The whole point is to celebrate the creativity of the era — and the many artists lost to AIDS. My God, the footage (still above) is mesmerizing.
Larry Stanton’s archives are represented here.
ADVOCATE: “Have the Gay Tech Titans Turned Their Back on Us?” (Oh, hell, yeah!)
THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER: The trade paper’s annual “who will win vs. who should win” Oscar predictions.
I really hope Sinners beats One Battle After Another, but I’m suspicious over optimism that a horror-based film can win. Remember Demi Moore being a shoo-in and losing? And yet, I am weirdly optimistic that Amy Madigan will snag an Oscar for Weapons; go figure.
If I were betting money, I guess I’d be conservative and guess:
One Battle After Another + Paul Thomas Anderson for director (no Black person has ever won for Best Director! In 98 years!)
For Best Actor, though I think Timothée Chalamet is right fucking in there in spite of his self-saboteur act and it would not shock me if he won, I’m going to guess voters go with lovable Michael B. Jordan, and that becomes their top award for Sinners.
Best Supporting Actress, I think it’s Madigan, but Wunmi was amazing in Sinners. I think she is right in there, and will probably be no. 2. (Don’t you wish we received a list of the vote-getters in order?!)
Best Supporting Actor, I think this could be Delroy Lindo for Sinners. I thought Sean Penn was amazing, but others must be thinking, “We have given it to him twice, he doesn’t even want it, and both Lindo and Skarsgård are veterans with no trophies.” Enduring that N-word outburst at the BAFTAs also made international news.
Who are your top picks?
INSTAGRAM: Look who turned 68 this weekend! Just one of Hollywood’s sexiest men ever. (And he still is.)
HUFFINGTON POST: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is building a case for himself as a war criminal. And who is going to keep these people out of prison and out of being hounded into it when Trump loses power? They’re young, he’s not.
POLITICO: Believe it or not, Ghislaine Maxwell still expects a Trump pardon, which would basically explode his presidency.

QUEERTY: Queerty wonders why TV is so a’scared of sexy, half-naked, older men.
INTERVIEW: Interview is hyped for Clark Gallagher.
… and, in parting for the day, while this is not exactly breaking news, it always freaks me out that Twitter is now almost a complete free-for-for all. I complained about a user casually calling a gay man he disagreed with a “faggot,” and this was the reply:
